Workers compensation has been a high priority issue for the Law Society in 2014, which has seen us responding on behalf of practitioners to two major inquiries, monitoring how the 2012 legislative amendments have played out in practice and liaising closely and frequently with various stakeholders. We have been vocal in the press, with significant coverage in both print and broadcast media. We have also been effective behind the scenes with a representational strategy spearheaded by CEO Michael Tidball. The Law Society’s focus on workers compensation is set to continue into the New Year with the launch of our 2015 NSW State Election Policy Platform on 27 October 2014 (see page 13 for details).
