Carly Brown had a successful legal career at the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage. But then she decided to become a part-time marriage celebrant. She enjoyed it so much she turned it into a full-time business.

One of the most memorable weddings marriage celebrant Carly Brown has ever conducted was an underwater ceremony for two scuba divers off Shelly Beach in Sydney. The bride wore a dress over her wetsuit and held a bunch of plastic flowers, while the groom donned a tuxedo, complete with bow tie.

The couple exchanged vows in the eight-metre-deep water using a big laminated sign that said “I do” and shared an underwater kiss in front of 30 guests. At one point, a curious shark even made an appearance.
