Dear Fiona,
We’ve reached that crazy time that is end of year again. Parties, parties and more parties! What advice do you have about how to make the most of this time of year?
Daniel

Dear Daniel,

I love that in Australia we have two reasons to celebrate at this time of year. First, it’s the festive period – end of year, Christmas, holidays – whatever you choose to call it. Secondly, it’s summer!

This combination means it’s a busy time in the social calendar of most lawyers.

I went to my first end-of-year party on 14 October. It’s tricky training your brain to keep focusing when you have two months to work and the pace picks up, especially when end-of-year parties start so well before the end of the year.

However, let’s not forget what these end-of-year gatherings are all about. They are opportunities to relax, say thanks for the hard work of staff, and recognise the loyalty of clients and referrers.
