I started crying in the office recently after a senior colleague corrected me. He told me I need to be more resilient and develop my emotional intelligence. Can you help me understand what this means and how to build it?

Dear Elise,

First of all, don’t worry about the crying part too much. We all have moments where our emotions overcome us (and that’s okay). The key thing is to understand where the emotion came  from and to develop strategies to ensure you respond better next time.
