I am a senior lawyer in my fifth year of practice at a firm where I have worked since I was a graduate. The firm’s annual performance review period is approaching and this year I am really hoping to gain a promotion to Senior Associate. I work hard and achieve my billable hour targets but I am worried I am not being noticed because some of my peers have already gained promotion to management positions. How can I best prepare for the review to showcase my achievements and increase my chances for promotion?

It can be frustrating when you feel as though you work hard and yet miss out on promotions or bonuses. Many lawyers suffer the same fate, mainly because of one factor: lack of visibility.
